When I travel around the city I live, the city is decorated with flags, garland, painted windows and banners. There’s a buzz of final preparations being made for the parade, the 5K run/walk, and a fesitival in Festival Park with the day ending in music and a spectacular firework show. A show of red, white and blue proudly decorating many homes. Parks and beaches will be filled with people having picnics. Many will be home having a barbecue and celebrating the holiday with friends and family. In the evening you will see adults and children alike setting off firecrackers, small fireworks and sparklers. Laughter and “ooo’s, ahh’s” clearly heard in the evening air. Independence Day, a holiday for celebrating our freedom. A great holiday that let’s us know summertime is here.
